Show Maj. Thompson Soon To Publish Book on Philippine Languages CLARK AFB Major Richard N. Thompson, former educational advisor at the C C C camp, Cedar City, has completed his first book "A Survey Study of the Langua-gaes Langua-gaes of the Philippine Islands". Major Thompson, and his wife, Mrs. Helen M. Thompson, who are now making their home at the military dependents housing area, Clark Air Force Base, Philippines, Phil-ippines, used to substitute as teachers at Branch Agricultural college where their sons, Richard and Charles, graduated from the high school. Richard, now a lieutenant lieu-tenant in the U. S. Army, is stationed sta-tioned at Baltimore, Md., and Charles, a former U. S. Air Force lieutenant, is presently residing in Dayton, Ohio. Scheduled for release in late June or early July, Major Thompson's book is a handy source of primary information of Philippine languages. With approximately ap-proximately 150 pages, the book has a language map, and a complete com-plete alphabetical index of the 192 languanges, dialects and sub-dialects spoken in the 7083 islands f the Philippines. |
