Show UC Pony League Nine Ties for First Power 6 3 .667 Construction 6 3 .667 Dairy 4 5 .414 Parks 2 7 .221 A makeup game, postponed since early June between Utah Parks and Utah Construction teams in the Cedar City Pony League baseball schedule, was instrumental last Friday evening in placing the Construction crew into a tie for first place at the end of the first half of play. Trailing the Southern Utah Power company team by one- half game before the makeup game with the Parks, the Construction Con-struction nine mustered all of its know-how in the final inning of play to end up with a 10 to 9 victory and tie for league honors. Parks nine took an early lead, holding an 8 to 2 advantage after af-ter two frames. Both teams went scoreless in the third. In the fourth Inning the Parks went ahead 9 to 2 in the top half of the inning but the determined Construction nine got four hits and four runs In the bottom of the Inning to wind up the four frames with a score of 9 to 6. Neither team was able to score in the fifth and sixth Innings In-nings and the Parks team was held scoreless in the seventh as well. Heading into the final half of the final inning the Utah Construction Con-struction team scored three hits and pushed across four runs to win the game 10 to 9. Manning, leading off for UC In the bottom of the seventh, pounded out a double, and with one man out Gary Anderson blasted one over the fence for a home run to score two of the runs.
