Show SECOND YEAR Mexican Tour Plans Made by College Theron Ashcroft, head of the second annual Mexico Tour, being be-ing conducted by the College of Southern Utah this summer, announced an-nounced today that plans have nearly been completed and full load has been assured for the excursion this year. Interested citizens who will make the trip which will last for 15 days, have been collected from a wide area ranging from San Francisco, Calif., to Roosevelt, In the northeast corner of the state of Utah. Three people from San Francisco, Francis-co, will leave with the group on Friday, July 15, with one person from Los Angeles, also scheduled to make the excursion. Three have registered from St. George, two from Roosevelt, two from Wellsville, and two from Trenton. Tren-ton. The remainder of the party will be made up of Cedar City residents and members of the college faculty and their wives. The first day's trip will take them through the Kaibab Forest, Flagstaff, Ariz, and through the Oak Creek Canyon with a stop scheduled for Wlckenburg, Ariz. Last stop In the United States will be made at El Paso, Tex., after touring the Farmers Mar-) ket at Phoenix and the Mesa L D S Temple. Mexican Guide On arriving at the Mexican border the group will move from the C S U bus to a chartered Mexican bus for the entire time In Mexico. Jose Davlla, a native Mexican who has been converted to the L D S church, will serve as guide for the group In and around Mexico City. Davlla was the guide for Milton R. Hinton, who toured Mexico in search of history of the Book of Mormon. Mexico University, one of the most fabulous universities In the entire world for architectural beauty and landscaping, will be visited by the group as will many other points of Interest In the old Mexico City. Time will also be taken for shopping In Mexico Mexi-co and for tours of more personal Interest to those on the excursion, Ashcroft said. The group will arrive back in Cedar City on Aug. 1. According to Ashcroft, only four seats remain to be filled to Insure a capacity group for the excursion. A number of people have expressed desires to make the trip but commitments have not yet been received for the remaining seats. |
