Record outlasted the Construction Construc-tion "eight" in a 5 to 4 contest that had everything from rhubarbs rhu-barbs to scoring from first on an overthrow. Kenneth Benson was on the mound for Utah Construction while Gaylen Berry was the winning win-ning pitcher handling the chores for the Record. No action was seen Monday evening owing to the Fourth of July festivities and action was resumed Wednesday evening with Columbia scoring its fourth consecutive victory over the cellar cel-lar ridden Sixth Ward nine. Friday evening the Sixth Ward will be pitted against the Record Rec-ord and Monday evening, July 11, Columbia and Utah Construction will meet for the first time this season. A previously scheduled Game between the two mine sponsored teams was postponed. |
