Show Chamber Members Meet in Regular Session This evening, Thursday, the board of directors of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce will meet in regular session, accord-ing accord-ing to executive secretary Whit-. Whit-. . ney Jensen. Scheduled for the agenda will be a presentation of much talked of "television" situation in Cedar City with Arthur Higbpe, manager manag-er of radio station K S U B as a special guest. Higbee was Invited to attend the meeting and present proposed plans of the Southern Utah Broadcasting Company to bring television into the area. The invitation in-vitation was extended after Dur-rel Dur-rel Corry, representing the Escalante Escal-ante Valley Service, Inc., had met with the chamber and asked for a vote of confidence from that body. , With the understanding that ' two different proposals were under un-der way to bring TV into the area the board recommended that both sides be heard before any action could be taken, j the Escalante Valley Service group proposed, as published in jthe Iron County Record previ- ously, to bring three channels Into the area and charge a service ser-vice fee to connect up to the TV. The Southern Utah Broadcasting Broadcast-ing Company is proposing the establishment of a local station, one channel, and affiliation with CBS. This proposal was also reported re-ported In the last issue of the Record. Other matters of business will also be discussed at the meeting which will be held at Milt's Stage Stop In Cedar Canyon. |
