Show LATEST NEWS NOTES FROM NEWCASTLE Mrs. Mildred Tullis j Mrs. Effie Eeacham of Cedar City recently spent a day visiting in town. The dance sponsored by the buys of the Aaronic Priesthood last Saturday was enjoyed by those present. The boys and their Jeaders are trying to raise funds for a trip during the holidays. The i.L L A. held their Christ-rnajf Christ-rnajf '.rogram and party Tuesday evening. Special musical numbers num-bers were sung by Alec Wood of Beryl and Yvonne Fife of Pasa- dena. Mr and Mrs. Ruesch, Stake Dance Directors from Enterprise, helped with the dancing. Miss Yvonne Fife of Pasadena, Calif., is home to spend Christmas Christ-mas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Fife of Beryl. The Relief Society held a very interesting work meeting last week. Mrs. Phy.Uis Wood demonstrated demon-strated tying gift packages. Mrs. Pauline Bow.!er of Enterprise taught the members how to make beautiful Christmas candles. LeGrande Pendleton of Cedar City has been out to paint the new addition to the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Beacham. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harrison spent a few days recently in Salt Lake City. While there they were gue.sU oi Dr. Rex Skidmore when he reviewed his new book, "Youth, Love and Marriage," at the Deserct Book Store. Mrs. Gor-don Gor-don Knell accompanied them as far as Spanish Fork where she visited with relatives. Don Bishop of Delta and Gordon Gor-don and Eccles Bishop of Hinckley Hinck-ley visited at the Ida Tv.'lis home one afternoon last week. Merle Gibson and Nathan By-ers By-ers of Cedar City were speakers in Sacrament meeting last week. Mrs. Gibson and grandaughter, Kathleen, accompanied them. Leo Snow, Inspector at the Newcastle Reservoir, attended Mutual last Tuesday evening and contributed interesting information informa-tion to the special program honoring hon-oring the Prophet Joseph Smith. The weather certainly seems to be cooperating with the workers on the reservoir. As long as the weather permits work there will continue. Mrs. Vernon Christensen is reported re-ported to be steadily improving. At present she Is in Enterprise with her daughter. Residents in town were surprised sur-prised Wednesday afternoon to see an airr.'ane taxing up Main street. The plane belonged to La-lif La-lif Wood, contractor for the reservoir, reser-voir, who was up from Las Vegas on business. |
