This season marked the second year the family of five have a!.1 played and sang in the ; traditional presentation. First "Family" Participation It is the first time in the 35 veirs that the "Messiah" has been presented in Cedar City that all members of a single family have participated. It might also l)e several more decades before it will happen again. For Mr. and Mrs. Halvcrsen, who have always been active in any musical presentations with-i with-i i the ci:y regardless of its affiliation af-filiation with the cc.'lcge, it is a tribute to their training that such a fete could be accomplished. All of the three children have followed in the footsteps of their fathw by taking up the vio-lin vio-lin and participating in sch oo 1 and other musical activities. It Is a thing that each of the members mem-bers of the family can be proud of and the citizens of the community com-munity may also be proud of the J tradition and leadership shown by this family. Mr. and Mrs. Halversen have remained in Cedar City at the CoK'ege of Southern Utah even though offers for higher, more glamorous positions have been made. Hats off to the Halversens, to Roy', to Maude, to ReNee, to Marilyn, and to Chad. May they continue to be such an important import-ant part of the community and may they always call Cedar City their home. |
