Show Jacqueline Leigh Recites Vows Among the lovely late summer weddings in Cedar City was that of Jacqueline Rose Leigh and Ivan R. Beem, Pocatello, Ida. who were married in a beautifully beauti-fully appointed garden setting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Cowley, Cedar City at 5 p. m. on Tuesday, August 15. The impressive ceremony was performed by former stake L.D. S. president David L. Sargent. The bride Is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Webster Leigh of Cedar Ce-dar City and the groom is a son of Mrs. Marion Claywell of Mesa, Arizona. Standing before a flower-banked flower-banked outdoor fireplace the bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a white eyelet embroidered em-broidered wedding gown over white satin with peter pan collar col-lar and matching mitts. The bridal bri-dal veil was finger-tip length and she carried a bouquet of yellow yel-low gladioli with gold tricotlne trim. Standing as matron of honor was the bride's sister, Mrs. Harold Har-old Hlner, the former Carmen Leigh of Phoenix, Ariz. She wore an organdy model in toast tan with ruffled headpiece and carried car-ried white pom pom chrysanthemums. chrysanthe-mums. Other bridal attendants were Mrs. Marie Nelson and Miss Ruth Marie Hunter, who were gowned alike in chartreuse organdy or-gandy with matching headpieces and bouquets of bronze asters. Little Christine Hiner was flower girl in a dainty frock of lime net caught with nosegays of tiny flowers and ring-bearers were young Michael and Thomas Leigh dressed in white linen suits. Joseph Weight of Brigham City stood as best man and ushers ush-ers were Granger Leigh, brother of the bride, and Kerry Jones. Preceding the ceremony, music mu-sic was furnished by the Rainbow Rain-bow Singers under direction of Mrs. Virginia B. Larson. Vocal solos were presented by Mrs. Lois McConnell and Bert Carpenter. The wedding march was played by Prof. R. L. Halversen and Mrs. Larson. A buffet supper was served at the bride's home for members of the bridal party, their families and close friends. A special guest of honor was the bride's 84-year-old grandfather, F. M. Hamblin of Kanab, Utah. An evening reception followed at the Cowley gardens following follow-ing which the young couple left for a honeymoon trip to San Francisco. They will make a home in Cedar City pending the bridegroom's induction into the army, since he has already been called by his draft board. |
