Show Kivanis Ladies Elect First Officers for Club Mrs. Ivan Orton was elected president of the Cedar City Ki-waniennes Ki-waniennes at the first meeting of the newly formed organization held Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Frank Milne. Elected to serve with Mrs. Orton Or-ton during the coming year were Mrs. Richard Morris, vice president, presi-dent, and Mrs. York Jones, secretary-treasurer. First plans for the auxiliary to the Kiwanis club were made over a week ago at a dinner meeting of the club at Cedar Breaks lodge. At that time Mrs. Milne was elected chairman of an organization and nominating nominat-ing committee to get the group started. Other members of the committee were Mrs. LaMont Bennett, Mrs. A. F. Rich and Mrs. Mary Murray. Prior to the election of officers, offic-ers, a vote was taken by the ladies to determine if there was sufficient interest in the group fur the forming of the organization. organiza-tion. Following the election Monday evening, light refreshments were served to the ladies. A musical program was presented including includ-ing piano solos by Mrs. Jones, a reading by Mrs. R. G. Williams and vocal solos by Mrs. Ben Riddle. Rid-dle. The first meeting of the organization or-ganization under the new officers offi-cers will be held Monday evening, eve-ning, Aug. 21 at 8 p. m. in the junior high school library. Four directors of the club will be elected at the meeting. |
