Show Area Contributes Many Either Cedar City and southern Utah are being asked to bear more than their fair share of military man power needs, or the present mobilization is much greater than the people have been led to believe. Calling the National Guard to active duty put many more men into uniform from communities where units were located than the draft will take in a couple of years at the present rate of induction. But in spite of this, National Na-tional Guard towns are still being called upon to provide their full quota of men for the draft. Reservists are also being called from these towns just the same as from towns and cities wMere no guard units were located. , , In other words, a town like Cedar City, must fill its full quota of draftees and reservists, in addition to the large number of guard members, and it just doesn't seem right. Of course, no community wants to shirk its duty, but it seems like a more equitable way of filling man-power needs could be worked out. |
