Show Guard to Induct Men Saturday; More Enlist Total Enlistees Number 34 Since last week's Issue of the Record, 13 additional men have enlisted in the Cedar City battery of the National Guard, bringing the total number of enlistments to 34 since the guard was first ordered to active duty. A few more enlistments are expected prior to the induction of the Guard into Federal service Saturday. The 13 new enlistments enlist-ments Include Kenneth Bladen, Thomas Elwood Bladen, Rulon Dan Corry, Samuel R. Lamor-eaux, Lamor-eaux, Delton Bettridge, Dixon M. Hunter, . Granger Leigh, Bladen Woodbury, Andrew L. Mortensen, Lloyd Fullerton, Dale Christensen, Christen-sen, and Robert Hunter, all of Cedar City, and Kenneth P. Williams, Wil-liams, Kanarra. Seven members of the Cedar City unit were Inducted into Federal Fed-eral service Wednesday, while the remainder of the men will be officially taken in at 12:01 a. m. Saturday, Aug. 19. The seven men who were taken in early to prepare for Saturday's induction were: Capt Norton James, Sgt Broze Bulloch, Cpl. Hal M. Mer-rell, Mer-rell, Cpl. David A. Melville, Pfc. Rey Foy, Pfc. Melvln Clow and Pfc. Gary Macfarlane. During the past week, ordnance ord-nance men from Salt Lake City, have been at the local Armory s preparing the equipment of the headquarters battery of the .. Guard. The entire battalion will remain in training in southern Utah until the end of the months at which time it will be moved to a regular Army base. |
