Show Elks UiU Honor Servicemen at Special Program A banquet, dance and special program will be given by the Cedar City Elks lodge on Saturday, Satur-day, Aug. 26, for all National Guardsmen, reserves, draftees and volunteers, who will be leaving leav-ing for active duty during August Aug-ust and September. The special evening's entertainment enter-tainment will be for the men and their wives, or guests, according ac-cording to Steve Asmus, chairman, chair-man, and will be held In the ballroom of El Escalante hotel beginning at 8 p. m. Music during the banquet and for the dancing following, will be furnished fur-nished by the 7-notes orchestra. Main address of the evening ' will be given by Warren Bulloch, with response by CoL J. Frank Dalley, commander of the 213th Armored Field Artillery battalion in southern Utah;1 There will also be an address of welcome by M. D. Watson, exalted ruler of the Elks lodge, and a short talk by Mayor L. V. Broadbent. The pledge of allegiance alleg-iance will be by Capt. James Hoyle, Jr., commander of the Cedar City battery of the National Nation-al Guard. Also Included on the program for the evening will be vocal numbers by the Lions quartet. Corsages will be presented to all of the ladles, and small American Amer-ican gift flags will be presented to each man. Assisting Mr. Asmus with ar-I ar-I rangements for the affair are Dr. M. F. Burgess. Sgt, Walter Hill, Leonard Smith and Kenneth Im-lay. |
