Show Shrine All-Star Games Slated This Weed End Salt Lake City: Utah's football and basketball seasons will break wide open this week when 75 of the state's finest high school athletes, including a representative rep-resentative from Iron county, will participate in the Shrine All-Star All-Star games at the University of Utah. Jim Nielson from the Cedar City high school will play on the South football teamwhich meets the North stars on Saturday. The basketball game on Friday in the Ute fieldhouse, will pit the btfet of the Class A schools against the Class B aces. Both games start at 8:30 p. m. A mammoth pageant, starting at 7 p. m., will open the Saturday Sat-urday football game program, featuring musical and marching units, presentation of colors by Utah National Guard, army, navy, and marine corps and a score of veterans' organizations, also a massed band concert. The All-Stars have had a busy session, since coming here Aug. 7. What with daily workouts, they have been feted and dined at numerous public functions, seen a dozen first run motion pictures, been honored guests at baseball games, wrestling bouts, in what has been probably the most elaborate entertainment in many of their lives. |
