Show Redmen Lose Close Game to Kanab Cowboys; Freeze Play Fails as Cedar Goes Down, 41-39 Leading by two points with one minute remaining in the game, the Cedar City high school basketball team was unable to stall the game as the Kanab Cowboys broke it up, connecting with two field goals to win, 41-39. j Jerry Lewis was the boy who broke up the Cedar stall and sank the goal to tie up the game. Bunting added the basket which sent the Cowboys ahead, with the game almost over. It was a thrilling climax to a well played game throughout. through-out. The game was hard fought and close all of the way except for the first quarter when the Kanab team rolled up a 10-5 lead. The Redmen came back quickly and caught the Cowboys. Only two points separated the teams at the half and three quarter quar-ter marks. Cedar led at the half 20-18, while the Cowboys were in the lead at the end of the third period, 29-27. Nick Lunt of the Redmen team was high point man of the evening, eve-ning, connecting with nine field goals and two out of three foul tries for 20 points. Cutler and T. Johnson led the Cowboy scoring scor-ing with 10 and 9 points each. In the Dixie division high school race, Cedar is now in second sec-ond place with two wins and two losses, while Dixie, Kanab and Valley are tied for first with three wins and one loss apiece.)
