Show BAC Broncos to Face Carbon Eagles In Two-game Series Following two comparatively easy wins over the Westminster Parsons this past week end, the - Branch Agricultural college basketball bas-ketball team will face the south-em south-em division league leading Carbon Car-bon Eagles in two important games on the local floor Friday and Saturday. The B. A. C. and Snow college are now tied for second place with four wins and four losses, while Carbon leads the southern division of the conference race with seven wins and one loss. C 4 4 .500 Snow 4 4 .500 Dixie 3 3 .500 Westminster 1 7 .125 Carbon suffered its first defeat Fiiday night at the hands of the Dixie Flyers in St. George, 64-47. The Eagles came back Saturday night with revenge and won handily, han-dily, 61-51. Snow college was out of league play over the week end. Friday and Saturday night the Carbon Eagles travel to Cedar City for two Important games with the Broncos while Dixie heads north to take on the Snow college team. Westminster will be Inactive this week end. Sport fans in Cedar will have en opportunity during the Carbon Car-bon games to watch the ICAC conference scoring ace, Tom Steele, who now has a total of 144 points and an 18.0 points per game average. He has been leading lead-ing the Carbon scoring attack all teason and it remains to be seen whether the boys from the B. A. C. can put the skids under him this week end. The Broncos will be minus one of their starting players in the two games with Carbon Friday and Saturday. Carl Tuft was injured in-jured in the Saturday night, game against the Westminster Parson with three minutes re- rruiining in the game. He suffered suf-fered a sprained ankle and is on crutches this week. |
