Show U. P. Distributes 3.000 Copies of Seed Growers Book Omaha, Neb. -Substantially increased in-creased in size, Union Pacific Railroad today has made distribution dis-tribution of its 1950 edition of "Certified Seed Potato Growers". Three thousand copies of the booklet were issued, which is printed annually by the railroad as a service to potato growers and to encourage the use of certified seed. Prepared by the company's agricultural ag-ricultural development department, depart-ment, the 16-page booklet lists the names of more than 700 growers of certified seed potatoes pota-toes in counties served by Union Pacific in Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Wash-ington, Utah and Montana. In the booklet are eight illustrations illus-trations depicting the growth, handling and planting of seed potatoes. Among those to whom copies of the booklet were sent were potato shippers In Union Pacific Paci-fic territory, growers listed in the booklet, county agents, vocational vocation-al agriculture instructors, experimental exper-imental stations, deans of state agricultural colleges, state departments de-partments of agriculture, state potato certifying agencies and Union Pacific Fruit Express representatives. |
