Show Utah Exceeds Bond Quota for 1949 Utahns bought a total of $18,-147,504 $18,-147,504 in United States Savings Bonds in 1919, it was announced this week by Whitney Jensen, chairman for Iron county. The figures were released by Charles L. Smith, Utah chairman for U. I S. Bond Sales. This figure was an increase of nearly a half million dollars, $480,085 to be exact, over the $17,667,419 in purchases during 1948. Iron countv bought a total of $98,983 in E, F and G bonds during dur-ing 1949, compared to $85,997 in 1948, it was announced by Mr. Jensen. As a result, the state more than held its own in planned savings through United States Savings Bonds, according to State Director Di-rector Clem S. There were 17 of the state's 29 counties which' showed increases in savings, according to Mr. Schramm, i. e., Carbon, Daggett, Davis, Duchesne, Emery, Garfield, Gar-field, Grand, Iron, Millard, Salt Lake, San Juan, Sanpete, Tooele, I Uintah, Utah, Wasatch and Weber. |
