Show Power Co. Warns Against Shooting Insulators Off Poles L. A. Wiietten, vice president o( the Southprn Utah Power Company, Com-pany, reports that considerable damage to property as well as In-tcrruptlon In-tcrruptlon of electric service has resulted from youngsters using power line Insulators lor target practice. Young people repeatedly damage Insulators by shooting at them, with the result that lines are frequently fre-quently broken und service Interrupted. Inter-rupted. Tn udditlon the Insulators are damaged und destroyed und It is extremely difficult to replace them because of the materials shortage, to say nothing of the expense Involved. In-volved. Although Uie property damage and Inconvenience resulting from power Interruption are of major Importance, the practice has a more serious aspect, that of danger to the lives of people who may come In contact with fallen wires. One life was lost In this vicinity a few vears ago because of the fact that some one had shot an Insulator off a pole, and It may happen again. This practice Is a serious offense, and any individual caught at It should be severely punished. Certainly Cer-tainly parents should do everything possible to help curb such acts of vandalism. |
