Show Traffic Engineer Outlines State Safety Program "If traffic regulations are reasonable reason-able the motorists will comply, but if they are unreasonable no amount of enforcement can make them ef' fectlve',, was the opinion expressed by H. S. Wright, Traffic Safety Engineer En-gineer for the State Highway Commission, Com-mission, when he addressed the members of the Cedar City Lions club at the meeting Monday noon. Mr. Wright, dealing with the subject sub-ject of making Wie highways safe through the use of signs gave a most Interesting talk that proved highly educational. He showed drawings of effective signing of various hazards on the state highway system and proved with statistics that they had been very effective. "Proper signs, properly placed, and invoking reasonable regulations, are doing more to prevent traffic accidents acci-dents than any other thing," Mr. Wright stated, but maintained that education Is of vital Importance and urged the Lions to assist In the program of safety education in any way possible. |
