Show Valedictorian Named At Branch College Dr. II. Wayno Drlgf .;, Director of the Branch Agricultural college announced an-nounced today tuat the faculty of the BAC had selected Miss Joan Jones as Valedictorian for the Class of 1947 at the Cedar City sshooL Miss Jones Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lchi M. Jones of Cedar ' City. Fittingly, Miss Jones is a descend-ent descend-ent of one of the old Cedar City families active in the founding of the BAC fifty years ago and carries car-ries a name prominent on the Alumni Alum-ni flics of the jch.wl. She has maintained a 2.75 grade point average (or two years and has held several major student offices in the school. She was Editor-in-chief of the student annual, the Agi lcola. she was a charter member mem-ber of the Lass-O club and received an "A" award for scholarship. All in her Freshman year. This year she served as Student Body secretary, was feature dancer in several presentations, pre-sentations, was an active member of her scclal sorority Phi Alpha Beta and Is singing one of the lead roles, Musetta, in the Golden Jubilee Opera, Op-era, Puccini's "La Bohemc". |
