Show Iron Co. Farm Bureau Adopts Wage Scale .Members of the Iron County Farm Bureaus adopted a 75c per hour or $175 per month pay scale for normal farm labor In the county, coun-ty, at a meeting of the organization held Thursday evening. However, much farm labor, particularly In connection with such crops as carrots, car-rots, will be done on a Job basis, Kunien Gardner, president of the organization explained. The quality und type of labor on such Jobs varies so widely, he stated, that a set hour ly wage would not be satisfactory The possibility of securing buildings build-ings both for individual and labor cump use from government surplus was also discussed at the meeting. LaGrand Jarman, Salt Lake City field representative otf the state Farm Bureau federation, attended the meeting and outlined the procedure pro-cedure necessary in securing surplus sur-plus buildings. Following the meeting In Cedar City, Mr. Gardner and Mr. Jarman met with farmers of the Beryl area to explain the benefits of affiliating with the farm bureau. Committees were set up by the farmers of the West end of the county to organize and affiliate with the Iron County Farm Bureau, and also to secure surplus buildings for the area. |
