Show Commissioners To Discuss State Road Funds The Iron County Commissioners Commission-ers at their regular December meeting last week suggested that a meeting should be called of all civic groups in the county to discuss the secondary state road fund allocation for the county. A letter was received by the commissioners from Sheridan Fiack, district road engineer, asking that the commissioners advise him as soon as possible, of projects in order of importance on which state secondary road money be spent for the next three years. No action was taken on the matter pending the proposed meeting of civic groups in the county. During the meeting, the commissioners com-missioners named the following county civil defense committee, which will work with the state organization. Those selected to serve on the committee are: Mervin Noble, chairman; Arthur Nelson, sheriff, and Frank Goddard, all of Ce dar City; City marshall Harrell Dalton and S. M. Clark, Paro-wan. Paro-wan. A committee from Parowan was present at the meeting to ask that the county do some work on the road down the west lane of the Parowan North field, to make the road there more usable to the farmers. After inspecting the project, the commissioners gave assurance that county equipment will be made available avail-able as soon as possible to do the work, providing the necessary neces-sary land for the right-of-way is furnished by the owners along the lane. |
