Show Schools, Wards, Clubs Slate Many j Events for Christmas Holiday Season I Many and varied programs and entertainments are being pre-1 pared for the people of Parowan ' to take place during the next 101 days. The schools, wards and I other organizations have arrang-, ed many activities for the holiday holi-day season for the enjoyment of the citizens. " I Tonight: Thursday, the elementary ele-mentary school will begin the holiday season with an operetta, "The Legend of the Snowman" to be put on by students of all the grades under the direction of Principal Alma Lawrence with the aid of the teachers who will lead their own groups in various parts. A special Christmas assembly will he held by the high school Friday morning before classes are discontinued until after the holiday season. Sunday morning the Sunday Schools of both wards will have special Christmas programs. In the afternoon the two wards will join in holding a special Christmas Christ-mas program featuring the cantata can-tata "Music of Christmas" sung by the combined choirs. Two short Chrismas messages will be given during the program which will be held in the East ward chapel. In the evening Christmas tree programs will be held by both wards, with the East ward program pro-gram beginning at 6:30 and the West ward's at 7 o'clock. Both programs are built around a sacred sac-red theme of the Christ child's birth. The Primary has charge in the East ward and the Sunday School and Primary will have charge in the West ward. Santa Claus will make his annual visit vis-it to the children of the community com-munity during the programs. The annual Snow ball of the two ward's Mutual Improvement Associations will climax Christmas Christ-mas Day festivities. It will be held in the high school gym, that evening with the 7-notes orchestra of Cedar City furnishing furnish-ing the music. This dance is for the public and everyone is invited invit-ed to attend. Private and club parties will take up the evenings between the Christmas and New Year's week ends. The annual dance of the Paro-gun Paro-gun Gun and Rod club will be held Saturday night, Dec. 30 in the high school gym. This is always al-ways one of the outstanding events of the holiday season with special decorations, and music mu-sic being furnished by the 7 Notes orchestra. The public is invited to attend this, last dance in Parowan for 1950. |
