Show Jaycees Announce Plans for 1950 Service Award Presentation of the "Outstanding "Outstand-ing Young Man of the Year" award for 1950 in Cedar City will be madi by the Junior Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, Jan. 17, according to Burns Sherratt, president of the local Jaycees. The award will be presented to some young man between 21 and 36 at a special banquet to be held in El Escalante hotel. In announcing the award, Mr. Sherratt Sher-ratt emphasized the fact that the young man selected for the award does not have to be a member of the Jaycees. Judging will be based on four points: contribution to community commu-nity or state welfare during the year; participation in all-round community or state activities; exhibition of leadership ability, and evidence of personal or business busi-ness progress. Five Judges, who were selected following the award banquet last vear. will have thi final s,iv in the selection of the award recipient. recip-ient. Darwin Penney, Jaycee state director, is acting as advisor ad-visor to the judging committe. The banquet is open to the public, and tickets will go on sale after the first of the year. |
