Show BAC Faculty Ladies j Musical Highlight Oi Christmas Season A highlight of the Christmas j season was the annual Branch Agricultural college Ladies Fac-1 ulty club musical presented in the Second ward chapel Sunday evening. The large crowd of invited in-vited guests enjoyed an unusually unus-ually fine program of music under un-der the direction of Professor Roy L. Halversen. The program featured oratorio, opera and program music by string ensemble under the direction direc-tion of Prof. Halversen, with Mrs. Elaine Southwick and Herschell M. Neeley as vocal soloists. The oratorio music included six numbers from "The Messiah" with Mrs. Southwick and Mr. Neeley appearing in solo numbers. num-bers. The opera selections included numbers from the operas "Martha", "Mar-tha", "Lucia Di Lammermoor", "Faust", and "La Boheme." The program music included the works of Bohm, Wagner and Hahh. The members of the ensemble besides Prof. Halversen, were Mrs. Leatha Prestwich, Mrs. June Thorley, Mrs. Evelyn Jones, Mrs. Virginia Larson, Mrs. Mary Mac-Donald, Mac-Donald, Mrs. Peg Thorley, Gail Brawshaw, Francis Webster and the Misses Marian Decker, Mere-lyn Mere-lyn Bringhurst, Joy Tait, Orel Merryweather, Thais Williams, Renee Halversen and Laurel Esplin. The committee in charge of the affair included Mrs. Blanche Houchen, chairman, Mrs. George LeBaron, Mrs. M. E. Noble, Mrs. Conrad Hatch, Miss Mary L. Bas-tow, Bas-tow, Mrs. Eldro Rigby, Mrs. Glen Wahlquist, and Mrs. P.eed Cox. The guests were welcomed by Mrs. Vern Kupfer. Following the musical, light refreshments were served in the recreation hall. |
