Show Trip Into Rockies Will Highlight Soil Conservation Meeting Soil and water conservation problems of Utah and other western west-ern states will receive special attention during the annual convention con-vention of the National Association Associa-tion of Soil Conservation Districts Dis-tricts to be held in Denver, Colorado Col-orado February 15 to 17, according accord-ing to W. M. Hasfurther, representative repre-sentative of the Soil Conservation Service which is working with the Iron County Soil Conservation Conserva-tion district in this area. One full day of the national convention, February 16, will be given over to, a train trip into the Rockies in order that delegates dele-gates from all sections of the country may see the conserva tion needs of the West. This special spe-cial train will take the delegates dele-gates from Denver to the Winter Park area beyond the west portal por-tal of the famous Moffat tunnel. Soli and water conservation, grazing land and watershed management, forestry practices, and the Colorado Big Thompson reclamation project all will be discussed Informally by the delegates dele-gates and representatives of federal fed-eral agencies in charge of these programs. |
