Show Broncos-Flyers in Traditional Battles This Week The highlight of the Branch Agricultural college basketball season is scheduled for this week end when Coach Ray Llndquist's Broncos tangles with Harold Stowell's Dixie Flyers In a two game series. The traditional rivals ri-vals meet in the B A C gym Friday Fri-day night at 9:00 p. m. and will go to St. George for a game in the Dixie gym Saturday night. The first game will be a conference con-ference tilt while the Saturday-night Saturday-night battle will be only for possession pos-session of the Battle Axe, trophy for all athletic contests between the two schools. As a result of their double loss, tr Snow and Westminster, last week end, the Broncos will be the underdogs in the series this week, but there is little on which to Justify making the Flyers the favorites Both teams lost to Modesto early in the season, with Dixie playing the Callfornlans on more even terms. Both lost to Comp-ton Comp-ton with the Broncos looking the best. Both won from Weber, with the Broncos, holding the edge. Both trimmed Carbon, Dixie more convincingly than the Broncos, and last week both lost to Snow by about the same margin. On the basis of past performances perform-ances the games should be extremely ex-tremely even, and this together with the traditional rivalry between be-tween the two schools, there should be a couple of real battles bat-tles In store for the fans. There is no doubt but that Coach Lindqulst will throw his usual starting line-up, Woodbury, Wood-bury, Fullmer, Mathews, Holy-oak, Holy-oak, and Peterson, Into the Dixie Dix-ie game Friday, and they should be ready to put up their best game of the year to get back into the conference race. In the other games of the week, Snow will meet Carbon at Price Friday night, and Carbon will travel to Salt Lake City for a game with Westminster Saturday night. |
