Show Redmen Lead In Dixie Division Basketball Race TEAM STANDING Won Lost Tct. Cedar 3 0 1.000 Dixie 2 1 .067 Kanab 1 1 .500 Hurricane 1 1 .500 Enterprise 0 1 .000 Valley 0 3 .000 The Cedar high school bnsket-ball bnsket-ball team took over undisputed possession of first place in the Dixie division race Friday, by turning buck Dixie in a rough and tumble battle by the narrow margin of 27 to 25. The game, played at St. George was said to be more like football foot-ball than basketball, but an exciting ex-citing battle throughout. Coach Quill Allen's Red Men took an early lead in the game and were never behind; but had to stop a determined Dixie rally in the second half to stay ahead. Hurricane won its first league game by turning back Valley at Orderville in a free scoring battle, bat-tle, the Typhoons winning by a score of 55 to 52. Hurricane led all the way but a last quarter rally came close to overtaking the victors. Enterprise was "snowed under for the second straight week. The Kanab Cowboys were scheduled to play in Enterprise, but the town was isolated by the heavy storms and the Kanab team could not make the trip. It was the second straight game that Enterprise had been forced to postpone because of the weather. The Cedar Redmen will meet Enterprise on the Cedar City floor Friday night, and will be favored favor-ed to remain In the lead in the league race. Dixie will meet Valley Val-ley at Orderville and should win to stay close on the Redmen's heels. Hurricane and Kanab will break their third place tie, meeting at Enterprise In the oth-ed oth-ed division game of the week. The Cedar-Enterprise game will start at 7:30 p. m. in order that fans may see the BAC-DIxle game, to be played In the college gymnasium At 8:30 p. m. on the same night.
