Show B A C Broncos Drop Two Conference Games in Week-end Basketball Play TEAM STANDING Won Lost Tct. Snow 3 0 1.000 Dixie 2 1 .667 Westminster ........ 1 1 .500 BAC 1 2 .333 Carbon 0 3 .000 The Branch Agricultural college col-lege basketball team dropped a couple of conference games last week end, and dropped to next to last place in the southern division divis-ion standings. The Broncos went down before the Snow Badgers Friday night by a score of 48 to 39, and then lost a heart-breaker 47 to 45, Saturday night to the Westminster Parsons in Salt Lake City. In the game at Ephraim Friday Fri-day night the Broncos could not find the hoop although playing; a very good floor game and were controlling the ball a good share of the time. With every member of the squad having difficulty with their shots while the Badgers, Bad-gers, particularly Cunningham, center, were hitting the hoop regularly reg-ularly the Broncos soon fell bell. be-ll. nd and failed to recover sufficiently suf-ficiently to catch the high flying Badgers. Wun time running out and the Broncos trailing by a 41 to 21 score, Coach Ray Lindqulst's charges started a rally that closed clos-ed the gap but fell nine points short of Snow's total. Nearly everyone ev-eryone on the squad got into the game during the last few minutes min-utes of play. Saturday night the Broncos ran into a "red-hot" Westminster five, while their own shooting was still below par, and again trailed throughout the game, but only by a narrow' margin. The Broncos had tough luck throughout through-out the game, and especially at two or three crucial times when a counter would have changed the course of the game. Rallying In the last few mlnutce of play the Broncos came very close to turning defeat Into victory, throwing up a good defense and scoring more consistently. The Parsons, however, stayed In the fead with foul pitches, scoring their last ten points from the free throw line. The Snow college team climbed climb-ed into first place by taking the measure of Dixie college five Saturday night by a score of 54 to 46, In a game played at Eph raim. Dixie remained in second place, however, as the result of a victory over Carbon college Friday night by a 44 to 37 margin. mar-gin. The Westminster victory over BAC moved the Parsons into third place ahead of the Broncos.
