Show Enlistments Open to Former Army Officers The public information Office at Fort Douglas, Utah, announced announc-ed today that former officers of any of the Armed Forces of the United States will be given the opportunity to apply for regular Army commissions in the grade of Second Lieutenant. Lieutenant Colonel Lloyd H. Rockwell, Commanding Officer of t h e Intermountain Recruiting District said, "A regular army officer screening center and a board of officers have been established es-tablished at Fort Douglas to process pro-cess all applicants of this area who desire to apply for Regular Army commissions". He further stated that, "Selected applicants will be commissioned in the regular reg-ular army and will be detailed In the appropriate arm or service ser-vice for which the applicant Is considered most qualified as evidenced evi-denced by his military and educational edu-cational background. Appointments during 1919 will be made In two major Increments. Incre-ments. In March 1919 for those eligible or becoming eligible prior pri-or thereto and in August 119 for those becoming eligible by virtue of graduation from a recognized college or university during the spring of 1919. However this will not operate to preclude Immed iate appointment of those who may be selected during the Interim In-terim periods. Applications postmarked after Anril 30. 1919 will not be hon ored. Any person desiring further fur-ther information may obtain It by contacting their nearest Reserve Re-serve Officer training Instructor, National Guard headquarters or any U. S. Army and Air Force recruiting representative. The army recruiting station in Cedar City Is located on the second floor of the Thornton Drug store building. |
