Show Lt. Vernon Jones Serving As Army Postal Officer Word has been received that Lt. Vernon A. Jones, who left Cedar City with Battery "P", 222nd. Field Artillery, Utah National Guard, has been made Postal Officer at the Army Cadet training field at Santa Ana, California. Lt. Jones was first stationed at Camp San Luis Obispo, but when the reorganization was made at the camp last Fall he was transferred to the Air Corps and stationed at Moffett Field near San Jose. He was later transferred to Williams Field, Arizona, near Mesa, but e-mained e-mained there only a month, and since that time has been stationed at the Santa Ana Field. He was the first Cadet Company Commander at the new Santa Ana post, com manding Company No. 1. However, it was learned that Lt. Jones had had experience in the Post Office, and he was made Postal Officer In which capacity he Is still serving. "Vern" reports that the training of Aviation Cadets is moving on at a rapid pace, and that when the camp is entirely completed , and training reaches full capacity, the country need have no worry about having enough pilots to carry on the war. |
