Show Cedar High School Basketeers Win Practice Game I Coach Floyd Slater's Cedar high t school Redmen won their first prac- tice tilt of the basketball season i Friday night, defeating the Mtlfotd j high school team by a score of 41 to 25. The Redmen dominated the J play throughout and had little difficulty in winning. The Hurricane high school team k- played two practice games during g the week, winning them both and S serving notice that the Typhoons a will be among the leaders of the E coming Dixie Division race. With g Langston, rangy Hurricane center, w leading the attack, the Typhoons y trimmed Virgin Valley 43 to 36, and g tlppel Beaver the following night by y a score of 26 to 23, Langston again g leading the attack. 5 The Dixie Flyers dropped a game to Beaver by a score of 20 to 19, and g although the Flyers lost and the Ty- 5 phoons won from Beaver, the scores g of the two games would indicate Unit g the two teams are evenly matched, y All of the other teams in the divl- sion, Orderville, Kanab, Enterprise y and Parowan will swing into practice g games this week and it will be pos- v slble to get some line on what the g division race will be like. v |
