Students Against Roosevelt Negotiating Peace The President of the United States should not attempt to negotiate ne-gotiate a peace at this time between be-tween the European belligerents Is the opinion of students at the Branch Agricultural college, according accord-ing to Menzies Macfarlane, editor of The Bacian. Tin's opinion was expressed In answer to a poll sponsored by the American Association of Junior Colleges and printed in the latest Issue of the school paper. Not only should the president not seek to negotiate a peace, but the United States should not enter the European war "as an active fighting fight-ing agent." though many qualified their statement by saying that the United States is now active. Sixteen per cent of the student body, however, how-ever, feels that the United States should enter the war. Agreement was almost unanimous among the students that labor union strikes in defense industries should be outlawed. out-lawed. Ninety-seven and three-tenths three-tenths per cent of those voting voted "yes." The same number voted that the civil aviation program in colleges col-leges should not be cut for next year. Though 60 per cent feel that the United States is in imminent danger of attack if Great Britain is defeated, 44 per cent feel that the participation of the United States in the European war is not inevitable. inevi-table. The lend-lease proposal being be-ing delated, in congress received the approval of 83 per cent though over thne-fourths per cent hold that additional units of our navy should not be turned over to Britain, Bri-tain, nor should the United States navy be used to convoy merchant ships.
