C S 7 .413 Westminster 3 7 .187 Carbon 1 13 .083 The Branch Agricultural college basketball team slipped a notch In the Intermountain Junior College conference standing last week end when it lost two games to the team's arch rivals, the Dixie Flyers. The double win for the Flyers moved mov-ed the Dixie team Into fifth place, just ahead of the Aggies. Dixie won the first game by a score of 44 to 39 after a stiff bat- ue. me Aggies iea inrougnout the first half, leading by a score of 25 to 19 at half time. In the second period. Keith Hafen, Dixie center, scored sensationally and led the Flyers in a rally that pulled the game out of the fire. Saturday night the Dixie players were decidedly on while the local quint ran into their old difficulty of not being able to hit the hoop, an1 consequently the visitors dominated the play throughout, winning by a score of 43 to 32. The biggest upset of the season was pulled by Weber Friday night when the Wildcats completely outplayed out-played the hitherto unbeaten Snow college Badgers. The Weber five led all the way and won the game by a 58 to 41 score. Snow came back to defeat Westminster West-minster Saturday night by a score of 52 to 36, and is favored to tie up the championship when the B. A. C. meets the Badgers In Ephratn Friday night. In the other games of the week Ricks won twice from Albion by scores of 50 to 39 and 56 to 37; and Mesa won twice from Carbon, 55 to 29 and 55 to 49. The season comes to a close this week end with seven games belna scheduled In six cities. Ricks will play two games at Carbon, Weber and Westminster will meet In Salt Lake City Friday night and In Og-den Og-den Saturday night. Mesa will play Dixie In St. George Friday night and will come to Cedar City for a game with B. A. C. Saturday night. This final game between Mesa college and the Aggies should be a fitting climax to the season, since the teams are apparently evenly matched. The Mesa Mavericks defeated de-feated the Aggies at Grand Junction In an early season game in which the outcome was in doubt until the final minutes of play. Both teams will be fighting to wind up the season In victory and to boost their season's average which gives the fans assurance that a battle can be expected.
