| Show faculty forum by lee F gledhill saturday night when I 1 walked into our dressing room after the basket ball defeat we had been handed by gunnison I 1 expected to find a dis cou raged team however they met me with the shout we 11 beat them in our other game I 1 I 1 asked what other game since I 1 knew the gun nison contract was strictly a one game deal the answer they gave me was at the class B state tour cament I 1 believe this is an indication of the spirit our boys have without a doubt we d been soundly trounced gunnison didn dian t even play hill or harward after the first quarter our team knew it had been administered a basketball lesson and were deter mined to use it to improve their play the value of the gunnison game was to show our team how the game is played in the mo re populous reg ions when we win a few games in our own area we need to be shown that we haven t arrived we need to be shown that more skill more training more team work and more headwork are needed both the coach and the team took that attitude away from the game they 11 profit by it we need to play a clearly su team occasionally so that we can sharpen up and raise our sights in march three teams from region 5 will go to the state tournament at provo region 5 is made up of the grand emery san juan league and the ustah duchesne league one team from each league will go the second and third place teams from the two leagues will have a play off to determine the third entry the road is a rough one but we could meet gunnison again in the tour cament courage and headwork and wanting to may put us there |
