Show Check Conditions Before Heading Out To Burr Trail BOULDER The Burr Trail can be an exciting wintertime adventure ad-venture for the visitor to the central Garfield area. The road, 66 miles in length, leads to Bullfrog Marina at Lake Powell where the John Atlantic At-lantic Burr operates on a limited winter schedule. Travelers should always check with the Sheriffs Office in Pangui-tch, Pangui-tch, with the Forest Service or Bureau Bu-reau of Land Management Office in Escalante, or with the rangers at Anasazi Indian Village Museum in Boulder before starting out on the Burr. The road will soon be upgraded and parts of it will be paved. The road cannot be traveled with a trailer and it's a good idea to check with local residents or the Forest Service or BLM offices before be-fore heading out. The road forks at the Notom Road in the park and travelers can journey north into the park headquarters head-quarters (another 42 miles), southeast south-east to Ticaboo and Bullfrog Basin on Lake Powell and the John Atlantic At-lantic Burr ferry (another 33 miles) or south 1 1 miles and then east for about 25 miles on a jeep road to Starr Spring campground and rock-hounding rock-hounding area. |
