Show Grand Circle Elects Officers i CEDAR CITY The Grand J Circle Association elected officers i and directors for 1989 during its j annual meeting in December at ; Wahweap Lodge on Lake Powell, it was announced today by association p president Christopher "Kit" Law. Law, who is manager of marketing and public relations for TW Recreational Services' Utah Parks division, said the new slate of officers includes Al Earley, president of Del E. Webb Recreational Recre-ational Properties at Lake Powell, Ariz; Alma Truman, executive secretary sec-retary of Utah's Color Country travel region; and Peggy Humphreys, tourism director for San Juan County. They hold the Grand Circle offices of vice president, presi-dent, treasurer and secretary, respectively. All officers are also directors of the association. Directors-at-large are Gerald La-Font, La-Font, Goulding's Lodge at Monument Monu-ment Valley; Anne Markward, marketing director for ARA Services Ser-vices at Mesa Verde, Colo.; and Jackie Rife, Kane County director of tourism, Kanab. The association is a non-profit consortium of 33 public and private member organizations dedicated to promoting the scenic wonders and attractions within a 300-mile-i diameter circle encompassing ' southern Utah, southwestern Colorado Col-orado and northern Arizona. Since its formation in 1984, the association associa-tion has significantly increased public awareness of the benefits of travel in the region. Cited for excellence in travel marketing techniques, the Grand Circle Association won the Utah Travel Council's 1988 tourism j marketing achievement award in the corporate category. In addition to publications and information about the area, the association conducts a familiarization tour for travel media each fall. |
