Show 'Friends Of Library' , Program Organized Members of the local 4-H Teen Council have formed a "Friends of the Library" organization, with a multi-faceted program to assist the library, generate interest in reading, and encourage increased use of the library. Heading up the project is Tammy Baldwin who is working on a State Ambassador project for The Teen Council decided upon several associated projects, beginning begin-ning with an "old book" reading contest for fourth and fifth graders, the 30-day contest encourages youngsters to read some of the library's li-brary's older books, such classics as Tom Sawyer" and "Johnny J?MKlni 3nd SOme 30 olh childhood favorites. The students are keeping a record of the pages hey read, and the 4-H Friends of the Library have some special prizes in store for the participants Some of the 4-Hers went to Garfield Memorial Hospital where Wave book reports for patients in the extended care wing. They also serve the patients by checking out and returning library books for them and reading to those whose eyesight is failing.
