Show Dixie Forest Proposed Plan Being Distributed to Public Forest Supervisor John Lupis has announced that the Dixie National Forest is currently distributing a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and a Proposed Dixie National Forest Land Management Plan for public comment. The content of the plan includes: the major public issues and management concerns that have been identified as pertinent to the Forest; an analysis of the existing management situation; long range policies, goals and objectives, and the specific management prescriptions needed to meet those policies, goals, and objectives; proposed locations, timing, standards and guidelines for management practices; and monitoring and evaluation requirements. A brief Summary of the DEIS and proposed Forest Plan has also been prepared and is available to persons who may not wish to review the complete set of documents. In announcing the distribution of the documents, Forest Supervisor Lupis requested that the public provide the forest with their written comments on or before Jan. 17, 1986. Following that date, the public comments will be analyzed and used to help finalize the documents. Copies of the summary or a complete set of documents may be obtained by calling or writing the Dixie National Forest at 82 North 10Q East, Cedar City, Utah 84720.
