Show Financial Advisor Named by Schools In a recent action of the Garfield County School District the insurance company of Prudential-Bache was selected to act as financial advisor for the district in the building bond refunding. The board acted to refinance the present bonds issued by the district. Board members approved a motion to supply a school bus for nine kindergarten children residing in Hatch. The youngsters come in at the same time the older ones come to Panguitch but had ro way to return home except by private vehicles. The 1985-86 salary agreement has been approved by the school board. Hal Shurtz principal teacher of the Escalante Elementary School who had been on a leavj of absence because of illness has been recertified and found to be fit to resume 1 his positions at the school. In other personnel actions, music teacher Barry Erickson presented a letter of resignation which was accepted and Erickson was given a letter of appreciation. Effective July 1, 1985 the mileage rate for the district was reduced to 20.5 cents per mile from 23 cents. The action was taken to bring the district's travel costs more into line with other districts in the state. The district has approved the purchase of a new school bus and has authorized the sale of a 1964 school bus to Roy Quinnear, the apparent high bidder Parents who asked the lkard to consider a four-day school week a. the Escalante schools ran into some opposition so the hoard tabled the pioposition, |
