Show Bryce Teacher Will Finish Requirements Judy Buckingham, currently a teacher aide at Bryce Valley Elementary school has applied through Utah State University to complete her elementary certification in Early Childhood Education in the coming weeks at Bryce Valley. Buckingham was born in Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado in 1965 with a degree in French and a teaching certificate for the secondary level. Later married to George Buckingham, presently the supervisory park ranger at Bryce Canyon National Park, she found herself relocating ferquently because of the nature of her husbands work. The Buckingham's have two children, Leslie, age 11 and Alan, age 8. Prior to being transferred to Bryce Canyon, they have resided at Chaco Canyon National Monument in northwestern New Mexico, Glen Canyon National Recreation area, and Dinosaur National Monument. Buckingham has been active in both her church and in volunteer services in each of the areas she has resided. She hopes to student teach in the coming weeks and finish course-work toward her eventual elementary certification. She will begin half day student teaching at the kindergarten level under Mrs. George Jolley on March 21 and carry through till May 25. |
