Show Antimony Scouts Win Court of Honor Prize CIRCLEVILLE -Antimony Scout Troop 664 again walked away as the best troop at the Panguitch District court of honor held March 18 in Circleville, making the second time in a row that the Antimony boys have taken top troop honors. Norman McKee, district scout committee chairman, credits scoutmaster, Ted Jolley and Blazer B leader Diane Anderson with the increased interest in scouting in the Antimony area. McKee said, "It's going to be tough for the other units In the district to beat out Antimony for the top troop of the year honors to be awarded in July. For now they et a traveling trophy; it's the year-end results that really count." Marysvale. Scout Troop, led by Ron Burr and Patti Stevens, are currently running a strong second. In all, the five units represented awarded a total of 20 progress awards, 68 merit badges, and 5? skill awards. Aaron Mullins of Circleville received his Life badge and Lynn Snow of Marysvale received a' Star badge, the first badge of higher rank awarded in Marsyvale in several years. The top three boys at the court of honor were Ladd Brindley of Antimony, Frank Ciserella of Marysvale, and Eric Jolley of Antimony. Scouts meeting certain achievements during the year earn a district sponsored trip to the high Uintahs in August. The Panguitch district is currently sponsoring a merit badge powe-wow in Panguitch. One hundred and twenty-one boys from Piute County, Bryce Valley, and the Panguitch area are receiving instruction in 12 merit badge fields. Robert Gardner, powwow chairman, has predicted that numerous badges should be earned by the time the next cour of honor is held in May in conjunction with the spring camporee at Panguitch Lake. |
