Shown here is Ton I Sprat, Las Vegas, accepting trophy won in com- Mother nature lent her support and held off an impending storm Saturday .uhtil?racesand trophy presentations had been completed for the Panguitch Chamber of Commerce first annual Snowmobile races near Panguitch Lake. Attendance and participation, in this first event of its kind in the area, were fairly high. Races were held in almost all categories that had been advertised including free air, water cooled and fan cooled snowmobiles. Several contestants from the Cedar City and Brian Head areas competed and were able to come away with a fair portion of trophies to advertise their accomplishments to those interested persons in their home towns. Among those included as winners petition for the Ladies Powder Puff Derby. Trophy is presented here by C of C president. Rick Bumlngham while twice winner himself, Robert Crosby, Panguitch watches in background. Storm Holds Off Snowmohilers Complete First Annual Contest were Jim Marsh, Brian Head, who placed first in the 440 water cooled division for both the Vi, and V4& mle races. Marsh also walked away with over-all trophy for fastest over-all driving in the races. Dale Ipson, 10-year-old resident of Panguitch did a fine job of representing his community by placing first in both the and V4 mile 440 fan cooled snowmobile race, driving a Kawasaki. Another local Panguitch man, Robert Crosby, placed first in both the Vfc and V mile races of the 440 free air division. Crosby drove a Polaris TX. Toni Sprat, Las Vegas placed first in the Ladies Powder Puff Derby. Mike Talbot and Garkane Power provided access to the race area and proper courses on which to race. Medical coverage was also provided at the scene with local ambulance and, volunteer qualified personnel to staff the vehicle in case of emergency. |
