The 1-ovcll Twitchells are in Richfield where Martha is under the doctors care. She was hospitalized for tests. Veda Mitchell is still north being treated and is still responding well. The Rex Aliens are home. They stopped in Richfield to visit his brother, Pete, who asked them to stay overnight. ' They came on home and . got word next morning "j ,;. - Pete had died of a heart iv attack. They went back for the funeral services. Leah Griffin cut her right hand on a broken glass and went to Panguitch to have it sewed up. The Griffin home had a weekend visit from Mary Porter, Dud Porter and part of their family, all of Provo. Jim Crandall spent ; several days at the Garfield Memorial Hospital but is back home. McKay Bailey took LaFaye to Salt Lake City for surgery at University Hospital. Melvin and Florence Alvey visited overnight at Richfield with Rick and Helen Pruitt. Cook Liston and Koleen Wayner have a grandson born to David and Marilyn Griffin of Idaho. Rol and Mina Porter had Marie Griffin here from Provo. The Vergean Porters, son Kevin and wife, Vergeania and Darrell Davenport of Summit. Other Porters here were Erncl and Ferrell. The James Mclnellys had son, Vern and family, from Richfield; John and Orabell Weigle from Bountiful here. The Lorell Munsons had the Howard Munsons, the Arden Woolseys, the Warren Woolseys and the Wally Woolseys, all Cedar City. Wally and family arc moving back here when they get a suitable house set up. The Clell Porters were here from Payson, Rudger and Velora Schurtz from Provo. The Randal Lymans and the Fred Rileys came from St. George. The I-cra Schows, the Ren Schows and the Dick Schows were here from Salt 1-nke City. A Valley Finance meeting was held Sunday with out of town members Don Swapp from Kanab, the Reed Thompsons from Cedar City and Shirl Morrell from Richfield. Our ball boys went north for the tournament. They did not win any games but had fun. Dennis and Pauline Lott sent them a basket of fruit to their hotel room and wished them well. Daniel Cowles had a visit from his sister. Eva Carter, of Salt Lake City. Thelma Marsh and Retha Shurtz had their sister, Virginia Bauer, here from Cedar City. Erma Gates had Sylva Graff and part of her family from Santa Clara. Visitors at the Hyrum Coleman home weie Maud and Herman Spencer from Salt Lake City. Twila Mclnelly had the MikeSearles family here from Cedar City. The Lynn Griffins are still bringing belongings to store until they find a house. Hal and Geneal Shurtz had son Kay and daughter Valeree and family home. Dana and Darrell Alvey j . of Cedar City spent the weekend here. The annual Relief Society homecoming party was successful. Dinner was served to 225 people after which a program was presented. Dawn Griffin was chairman and recruited folks from teenagers to great -grandparents. The Arnold Alvcys had Uaylene from Richfield, Janeen and Brad Duncan from Wayne county. The golden wedding of the Starns Slechams was well attended and very enjoyable. The program was put on by family members. Sacrament meeting Sunday was high council day, Doyle Cottam and Ivan Willis. The mixed chorus sang 2 numbers. Those sunshiny days were so grand it was melting the snow from the land, the birds all returned but sadly they learned that winter is still in command. |
