Not to say that there is a lack of seriousness in the plays being prethe sented upstairs at The Art Barn subjects at hand are far from trivial. All the better that Robert Patrick's "The Haunted Host" is presented with style and humor by a pair of actors who deliver a poignant message painlessly. One of two Patrick plays being presented upstairs at The Art Barn by the No Name Players, "Host" leaves you with a stomach aching from laughter and a little food for thought as well. Unfortunately, it is preceded by another Patrick play that misses the mark. Merging of Two The title of the first play. One Person," refers to the merging of two people in love, and the problems innate in having surrendered yourself when the relationship comes to an overview of their relationship. He presumably will gain some personal perspective in the process. Convincing Pantomime chair as Alone, with one his only prop, Bruce Waldrop plays The Author and convincingly pantomimes his way through flashbacks -from parties to intimate moments with his lover. Despite some moments of fine acting, it is difficult to sympathize with show. Even in the flashour backs to "the good times" there is a sense that The Author is engaged in a emotional attachrather ment (his), and it would be a stretch to get a sense that they were indeed "one person. But the rather dissatisfying firsi play is soon forgotten as the lights come up on the trashed dwelling of "The Haunted Host."
