Show 'Classic' bike trek to help Lung Assoc. SALT LAKE CITY The American Lung Association is set to host its annual Countryside Classic Bike Trek June 8 and 9. The two-day, 115-mile bike ride will begin in Brigham City and tour through Cache and Box Elder counties, 63 miles during day one and 52 miles on day two. The trek is a pledge ride for the American Lung Association of Utah. The trek will begin in Brigham City and head through Sardine Canyon Ca-nyon through Paradise, Millville, Providence and River Heights to Logan. After leaving Logan, bikers will head on Highway 3069 to Honeyville, where they will rest overnight at the Crystal Springs Resort. Trekers will head west from Honeyville on day two journeying through Elwood and Tremonton, finally returning on Highway 83 through Corinne back to Brigham City. Free Bike Inspection Day for all bike enthusiasts on April 27. Bike Inspection Day will be held at Gorilla Bicycle shop at 264 E. 6400 South in Salt Lake. Shop mechanics will inspect and adjust brakes, wheels, bearings and derailleurs. Other events are also scheduled to precede the June Countryside Classic; training rides are slated for May 1 1 , 25 and June 1 , with information infor-mation sessions scheduled for the following dates: April 24, 7 p.m. at Gorilla Bicycle, 264 E. 6400 W. in Salt Lake; May 1, 7 p.m. at Bingham's Cyclery, Washington Blvd., Ogden; May 7, 7 p.m., Loveland Cycle, 352 N. Main, Brigham City; May 8, 7 p.m., Rei Brickyard Plaza; May 14, 7, 8 p.m., Gorilla Bicycle, 775 E. 1300 S.t Orem. The bike trek will feature support meals, break stops along the route, overnight campingresort costs, cycling shirt and route map, sag wagon to carry all personal gear, mobile bike shop and medical support. Organizers said the funds sup- " port Lung Association programs P dedicated to the prevention, cure and control of all lung diseases and some or their related causes in- eluding smoking, air pollution and I occupational lung hazards. Registration for the two-day event will cost bikers $25. The minimum pledge amount is posted at $200, and the largest pledge gatherer over $4,000 will win a seven-day trip for two (flights and accommodations) to Cancun, Mexico Mex-ico or Orlando, Fla.
