Webelos visit State Copitol A group of Webelo scouts from Pack 989 of Centerville spent Thursday, Oct. 11, at the State Capitol meeting Val Oveson, the Lt. Governor. They visited his office and had their picture taken with him and then toured the Pioneer Museum. Mu-seum. The boys in the Webelo Den are Jake Summers, Matthew Hale, Todd Thomas, Garin Servoes, Keith Moon, Scott Kagie and Darin Hur dm an. Joel Hale, their leader, said, "I've worked in other positions in the community and the local church, but I think that working with the Webelos is great fun because you have such a wide variety varie-ty of things to do. ' ' Hale said that some of the good experiences they have had include going into the mountains to look for rocks, planting trees and going to see the birds at the aviary. Hale admits that being a Webelo leader has its problems and sometimes the boys are harder to deal with than his own five boys. But he said being self-employed helps with doing projects and being able to take the boys places in the afternoons. Hale's favorite project was helping the boys make a scooter over a six-week period. |
