Show Writers' workshop set Brigham Young University-Hawaii University-Hawaii will be the site of the 1991 LDS Writers Workshop from June 4 through June 8, 1991. Top LDS writers, Orson Scott Card, Jack Weyland, Lael Littke and Janice Kapp Perry, will present lectures and lead workshops for aspiring and professional writers. Workshop director Chris Crowe of B YU-Hawaii's Language, Literature Litera-ture and Communications Division said, "We're stressing that this is a workshop. Participants are going to receive personal instruction from some of today's leading writers and editors and will have plenty of opportunities op-portunities to write. ' ' Crowe explains that the workshop will consist of daily three-hour sessions where participants par-ticipants will work closely with an author or editor to develop a manuscript or to polish a writing skill in their area of interest. After noons will be devoted to more general gen-eral classes in writing and publishing. "I fully expect that this workshop will lead to a number of publications by some brand new LDS writers, ' ' said Crowe. "They'll be meeting with and receiving re-ceiving guidance from the very people who are in the market for LDS writing. It will be, I hope, an ideal setting for people who hope to get published." The cost . for the five-day workshop, including room and board on B YU-Hawaii's campus, is $200 ($275 after Dec. 31, 1990). For those who can arrange their own room and board, tuition is $80.
