Show Elks offer three scholarships area vocational schools may have applications and information on the program. South Davis County and northern Salt Lake County students may ob tain applications and submit them to the Bountiful Elks No. 2442 at 544 W. 400 N., West Bountiful or may contact Jim Szatkowski at 292-1470 or 298-1631. The Elks National Foundation is offering three two-year vocational scholarships of $2,000 ($1,000 per year) to Utah students who are planning to pursue an eligible vocationaltechnical voca-tionaltechnical (voctech) course, above and supplemental to high school or preparatory level. While graduating seniors may apply, the program is not limited to high school students. Older students who have worked for a time since high school are encouraged en-couraged to apply. The program is open to male and female, married and single students. The applying students are not required to have any family connection with members of the order, and such connections are not considered in the judging of applications. The applications are judged on the student's motivation, need, skills, grades and application brochure preparation. Students must submit original applications that are available at local Lodges of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks not later than Nov. 24. Counselors of the |
