Show Jewell A. Thornton BOUNTIFUL--Jewell Stewart Allen Thornton, age 80, died Oct 26, 1990. Bom March 19, 1910 in Logan, to James Carson Allen Jr. and Agness Matilda Stewart Allen. She married Carlos James Thornton in Salt Lake City Aug. 23, 1941. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Jewell was a member of the Maria Wood Robinson DUP Camp. She served as first counselor on the South Davis Board of the DUP and became corresponding secretary on the Central Cen-tral Company under Kate B. Carter. She was also a past president of the Bountiful Lady Lions. Survivors include three sons and one daughter: Dean Carlos, Salt Lake City; Virden James, Avon Lake, Ohio; Gaylen Allen, Sandy; Karla Ann, Bountiful; 17 grandchildren; 6 eat-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William B. (Norma) York, St. George. Funeral services were held Oct. 30, in the Bountiful 28th Ward chapel. Interment in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral directors, Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was serving as a Spanish Record Extractor at the time of her death. |
